Seriously, Bill Maher babbles incessantly about politics and religion as if he knows the so-called “truth”. The man simply and fraudelantly makes up stuff and passes it off as fact. For him to say on Larry King the other night, that Obama is genuine and a “man of the people” is laughable. Regardless of what I think of the Obama, the man is an elitist, and has never spent a day in his life facing the hardships that most Americans have endured. He has always had the best schools, the best surroundings and the best opportunities. Obama is many things, but he is NOT a man of the people. Having said this, Bill Maher cannot seriously think he is an informed person. But regardless the problem I have with Bill Maher is that he passes as fact… his personal opinions. And in doing so, he poisons the ill-informed masses who cannot discern reality and truth for themselves. The political elitist pin-heads from Hollyweird are becoming more dangerous than Bin Laden. They are poisoning our children with bogus facts and complete nonsense. They just say things… without regard to facts or reality. It is just appalling and sickening. While I believe in everyone’s right to free speech, I don’t agree that people can simply say anything and not be challenged. These people are dangerous because they know not what they are talking. I pray that somehow some way the lies and egregious distortions can be challenged and shown for what they are: personal opinions completely devoid of fact. And Bill Maher would be my first target to challenge his so-called command of facts on politics and religion. The man is a “train wreck full of absurdity”.

MLK’s most profound words: “judge a man by the content of his character, rather than the color of his skin”
At the time MLK spoke those words, the world was not ready for accepting people based on their deeds and actions, but rather was focused more on skin color.
Today with Obama’s inagauration, one might suggest that MLK’s words spoken nearly 40 years ago, were prophetic… and in a way they were. But the election of Obama has turned MLK’s words of wisdom completely upside down. We have not judged Obama based on the content of his character, but instead we have judged him based on the color of his skin. More headlines and news reports have focused on Obama being a Black or African American rather than being the best and brightest individual for the job of President. MLK would be saddened by the rabid focus on Obama being black. So while many political hacks argue we’ve made history today, I would strongly argue otherwise. History would have been made, if the campaigns and the election of Obama was based entirely on him being the best and brightest candidate to be President. But from my vantage point we are far from living in a “post racial” society… oh quite the contrary. We still allow people to carry around labels such as Mexican American or African American… I ask: “Aren’t we all simply Americans?” To me it is a given if you were born here legally… you are an American… you are not African, Mexican, Polish, Klingon or anything else. You are simply an American. And until we get to the point, we are all simply Americans, there is no chance we are going to be able to move beyond race. To me it is insulting for people to insist they are Mexican American or African American. I am of Irish descent, but don’t label myself Irish American, I am simply an American. End of Story.
Who cares if Obama is black… seriously
Does anyone seriously care if Obama is black, white, green or purple? I find this whole thing annoying at the minimum and disturbing at the maximum. We talk about wanting to be the idealistic country MLK talked about where everyone is judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin, so why in the hell does everyone make such a big deal about Obama being black. WHO CARES!!! He is simply an American… that’s it folks. Nothing more than a simple well educated American. That’s it! I make no distinction between African Americans, Asian Americans… blah blah blah. You are either an American or you are not. We cannot be a nation of African Americans, or Hispanic Americans… that by its very nature is racist. And all the groups that have formed promoting all these different peoples are racist at their core as they want to distinguish one American from another based ONLY on skin color. We don’t need to comment on the heritage of other Americans other than if we are doing genealogical studies… otherwise we are all Americans. So I say Obama is our next President… and that’s all he is… To single him out as the first African American demeans Obama as it suggests he is different from the rest of us Americans. Is he different… seriously? Other than being black, I presume he is just another American who has risen to the call of being President. Stop all the silly commemorative plates, and commemorative coins. Obama’s presidency is nothing more than America living up to its ideals. So as an American I simply say: “We have a 44th President and he is Obama”… end of story. Nothing more need be said or written about this issue.
Obama for President… what are we thinking!

_______________________________________________________
I have been on this earth almost 50 years. I have lived through the Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton and Bush II presidencies and for the first time in all those years I have no respect for our process of electing our leaders. In nearly 50 years of my life, I don’t believe there has been a less impressive presidential candidate or president than Obama. He has accomplished very little compared to my past Presidents or presidential candidates, and he has not accomplished significantly more than myself when all things are considered.
“How in the world did we get to this point?” To attempt to understand, I asked a close Liberal friend, who I respect highly, why anyone would seriously consider Obama. She said: “Let’s give some new blood a chance”. Regrettably I think far far too many people are thinking like my friend. That scares me as Obama is not an impressive character except to say… he seems to be growing into the portrait the media has painted for him. So again I ask: “What are we thinking!” Just as a GED is not equivalent in “real terms” to a high school graduation… community organizing, a few years in the Senate and a law degree does not prepare one to be the President. There is no substitute for certain life experiences and the wisdom of age. Obama simply does not have what it takes TODAY… to be President. I really wished he had waited another 4 years… he just is too weak.
